Help with obd1 engine into obd2 car
hard to explain,
got a hondata s200b and a whole b18 obd1 complete engine from my 1992 turbo integra. want to take engine and hondata and swap into a 1997 EK hatch obd2 car.
dilemma: i know hondata must use obd1, so....get a obd2- to obd1 conversion harness, a LS obd2 distributor and the real question..will the obd2 harness work with my RC obd1 440's? if not, why. and if no fitment, do i jus cut the injector plugs off the harness and solder on obd1 injector harnesses?
is this anything else i need to know?
thanks
wade

umm.... just the obd2 to 1 conversion harness. not that dizzy. if its an obd 1 engine, it should already have an obd1 dizzy on there... wich will work fine with ur obd1 ecu. and yeah.. if the injector plugs dont fit. cut and resolder.

i wont need a obd2 distributor for a obd 2 engine harness? they will match up on wiring and harness fitment?

well u can go either way, and either way will work. i just thought u already had a obd1 dizzy on ur motor... and yes that will require some re-wiring.. but i gess if u have an obd 2 dizzy u can use that also... i use to have on obd2 dizzy on my H then i converted it to obd1.
(obd2 dizzy's arent timing adjustable.. obd1 dizzys are)
and if everything else is gonna be obd1 in ur car.. then y not the dizzy?... an obd2 wire harness is still just a wire harness.. u can change it to fit whatever plugs u want.
but once again.. it doesnt matter.

obd1 harnesses has 2 plugs for the dizzy the obd2 has 1 plug. the injectors will not work with the stock harness plugs unless u cut them and resoder them with the obd2 plugs. if u do do that make sure u do a good job. wiring isint somthing to half ***.

cstay, woudlnt you want to resolder the harness with OBD1 injector plugs, not obd2 like u said, whats the point of cutting off obd2 plugs and re soldering obd2 plug like u said?
i have an obd1 dist, so how do i make it work on an obd2 harness?

since you have an obd2 distributor, you can keep it and be fine. all you need to do is buy the obd2 to obd1 harness to convert the engine harness to obd1. no need to rewire the plugs. as for the injectors, you can solder but you can also buy the injector clips that they sell to accommodate your issue.
