Default Hasport K20A Press Release

Hasport is happy to announce the release of the K-series mount kit for the 96-00 Honda Civic. The kit will work with both K20 and K24. Other products available, or soon available are;
Axles in two hp ratings
Wiring conversions
modified ECUs with no immobilizer.

The wiring harness and ECU require a core.

ECUs are available with both boost and NA tunes.

The kit is 6 pieces, three billet mounts and three brackets. Engine placement is as far back as is allowed by the rear crossmember and as far up as possible without the K20 engine hitting the hood. For mounting the K24 some of the under-hood structure will need to be removed.

EKK1 Kit (not including hardware)

More pictures of the mounts can be found with this link
http://www.hasport.com/prp/ekk1.htm

Other K-series products already available;
ESK1 2001 up Civic K-series mount kit
2001 up Civic K-series conversion harness
2001 up Civic K-series axles

Other K-series products in the works are;
EG/DC Kseries mount kit
EF K-series
Radiator mount kit
Radiator fan switch / water temp sensor kit
K-series shifter mount kit
Custom linkage to fit under the consol of the EK/EG/DC
ECUs modified for K24 applications

If you have any questions pertaining to Hasport products for K-series engine swaps please post and I will answer them.

When you say the engine is mounted as far "up" as possible, is that because the k series engines are taller than a b or d-series?

edit - saw your explanation in another post. Whats the ground clearance like with this swap? b-series or h-series?

A custom header is needed and we are in the process of manufacturing them. I will post pics of one next week, mid week probably. It won't be ready to sell for awhile though.

Email info@hasport.com for pricing on th EK wire conversion and other parts. We should finalize the price tomorrow. Just so you know, there needs to be a core harness sent in. Acceptable cores include US RSX and US 02-up Civic Si.

</TD></TR></TABLE>

The K-series is taller than both the B and H. With our kit the ground clearance is better than an H-series engine. The engine is more compact and can be moved much further rearward where the hood line is taller. We were able to move the engine up quite a bit.

DC/EG in four to six weeks. We should have pics late next week and are hoping to have a K powered DC in the Honda challenge at the California Speedway. A lot of things have to happen though for this to work out.

The mount kit price is $640, it's the other prices we haven't finalized yet.

After the EF kit is out we look into kits for 90-93 Integra, 94-97 Accord, and 90-93 Accord.

awsome... you guys need to come out with this stuff quick! I want it all now!

anyways, for the ECU... would we send you our ECU and get it back with immobilizer removed? or would we be getting a brand new one all together.

so the mounts for the EG are comming out in 6 weeks? will the K24 engine clear the stock hoodline? if not, how much higher does the hood need to be? when will the ECU thing be available? How much will it cost?

im looking to get all this pretty soon, i hope you guys are going to have it all ready for when i need it.

The plan is for the mounts to come out in 6 weeks. The K24 engine is tall and you will have to remove some of the inner structure of the hood. The ECU thing is available now with EKK mounts. The cost is $600 and the ECU will be reflashed to run whatever head/block combo you have. The only program I do not have at the moment is stock K24. That will be in a month or so.

We're working as fast as we can.

No ETA, the EF H22 kit is in line before it so look for that one first. The hood clearance is going to be a stickler. I will be talking to a couple of companies about making custom hoods for K swaps including one for cars to keep powersteering. It is their decision to make them or not, I just want to see them made.

Thats's some great news... To be honest, I would rather pay Hasport a little bit more and know my motor will not drop then any other vendors...

This is only the beginning.. A k20a swap will be able to match the type-r swap soon. If you take into consideration the power difference and potential, it is already matching it.

those of you that are b series freaks, will have to change your mind

Default My thoughts.......

This swap is rather pricey much like H22A and ITR swaps were two or three years ago. The choice of most people will still be B-series swaps. The saving grace is that the K24 is a lot cheaper and once someone developes a decent cam will be the most popular K swap.

Hopefully the introduction of K-series swaps will relieve some of the demand on B-series swaps and stabilize the price. They are getting more scarce without much drop in demand.

This could wind up being a win-win situation for everyone.
