Default h2b problems?

I have an h2b in my civic ek hatchback.. My problem is that the motor doesnt idle lower than 1000rpms.. is it due to me disabling the balancing shaft belts? I heard doing so will make it idle a little more rougher.

Heres a picture of my fuel psi and my idle. Its a stock motor with headers and air intake. The ecu is also a stock h22 basemap with the egr disabled chipped by phearable.net

I also removed the IAB plate from my manifold since Im not using the IAB and to also give my map sensor more room from hitting the hood.

Does anyone else with an h2b have an idle problem that doesnt go lower than 1000rpms? and what fuel psi are you guys adjusting it to on a stock motor?

My H2B had no IACV, no FITV, no IABs and no belt on my balance shafts, and it idled at 700-800 rpm when warm.

My manifold doesnt have a place for the iacv. What program are you using?

I did because It was a huge hassle with bouncing/erratic/high idles, so i just blocked them off or looped whatever coolant lines ran to them. I was using eCtune for engine management.

program as in ecu? im using a chipped 28 with a stock h22 basemap that bypasses the egr, knocksensor and other emissions chipped by phearable.net untuned..

but isnt the point of the iacv and fitv to help the ecu determine where it should idle at? I thought you always needed an iacv?

here are more pictures I took

is this the correct way to bypass the egr and hook up the hoses from the thermostat, and the FITV to the IACV? I have an egr blockoff plate as you can see

Yeah but when they go bad or get dirty they cause bouncing idles and high idles, and sometimes it's easier just to block it off. It's an option in eCtune to just turn off the IACV and run off the map for idle.

lol yes I have.. and I also adjusted the tps sensor which is strange because it only allows me to adjust to about 580 which is the lowest I can go.. and thats with the idle screw turned closed all the way.. helped my idle a bit now it goes a little below 1000rpm

My issue was kind of like gibanez's when I had my stock manifold. Just had a bunch of problems with the sensors but now I cant have them. Do you have any vacuum leaks that you know of tb, manifold, and iabs all sealed up good?

thats what I was thinking off.. I dont think I have any vacuum leaks because the idle is steady.. I might have to replace TB gasket as well as tps gasket and maybe the manifold gasket since I took off the IAB plate. Dont get me wrong motor runs and hauls ***!! I love this motor.. I can accelerate on the freeway on 5th gear and just pass everyone.. but my problem is the stinkin idle :[

See if tightening the plastic piece in the fitv will do anything

after the iab is removed and there can be a small vacuum leak. i think its on the back side of the manifold. ill ask my buddy tomorrow and see if he remembers the exact location of the leak. he had a hight idle issue for a wile untill he fixed it. i still have the iabs in my ej6 so i dont have any idle issues. will be upgrading to a black tracks ported stock manifold soon.

EDIT. i noticed that you said you have a chipped ecu running a basemap. i had a surging idle issue before my car was tuned. once i got tuned no more erratic idle. now my idle stays around 750. what city do you live in? my friend owns a shop in vallejo and he does amazing street tunes. and he has a good amount of tuning knowledge with h2b's

you have a vaccume leak on the front side of the manifold.

heres how to fix:

*remove iac and make a solid block off plate or tig weld the holes. mount the iac somewhere else but leave it pluged in so you dont throw a code.

*remove tb and make a new tb gasket w/o the holes for idle/fitv. basicaly a solid gasket w/ only holes for the 4 studs/bolts and of course the tb bore.

problem solved
