H22A running lean?
Trying to do some basic tuning on my H22A, have a air/fuel meter and VAFC. At wide open throttle this thing is running lean and I've adjusted the VAFC +50 all across the board (on wide throttle) and is still the same and have adjusted it the opposite way -20 to see if there was a difference and nothing. I think my headers are leaking at the gasket (I can see smoke sometimes around them and it feels as if hot air is coming from the gasket area and I'm not sure I've got my vacuum lines hooked up correctly but this motor idles good and seems like it runs fine no missing or anything but what could be causing this thing to run so lean at wide open throttle and why isn't the VAFC making a difference?
The header leaks could be giving you a false lean reading.

If you have the car running at idle and you zero out the vafc all the way to -50 does the car die? If not you have something hooked up wrong. All a Vafc or Safc does is trick the map into sending a false signal to the ecu. I believe the only two wires you will need to be worried about are the white and yellow on the afc harness.
Sell the AFC, take that $$ and $100 more and have a local Crome dealer tune your car on the dyno. VAFC are quite possibly the worst tool around.
