H22A into 93 Accord EX-R...truth about mounts...
Ok here goes...this is what I have:
1993 Accord EX-R AUTO (5 speed conversion performed)
1993 H22A JDM motor w/mounts
1993 Accord 5 spd axles and half-shaft
I need someone to help me sort through all this. Accords use the same drivers side mount regardless of A/T, M/T, correct?
Also, the front mount does not change. Correct? The only mounts that change are the transmission mount and the rear transmission bracket.
Now in order to make this H22 fit correctly, I will have to get my hands on an Accord rear tranny mount and the rubber rear mount out of a M/T car. As far as the mount for the tranny, I can use the H22A mount.
Also, there is a difference between the EXR and the LX rear mounts.
So, on the picture above, I need to buy part number 10 and part number 3.
If I am wrong, please correct me, cause this swap is pretty frustrating.

have you already done the 5spd swap???
for the 4th gen accords you use ALL accord mounts on the h22.
some of the ex's had a vacume controled rear mount... that has no effect on anything bolting up though.

Yeah the 5 speed conversion is done, but all I have for Accord mounts are the automatic ones.
SO, I need to get the tranny mount and rear mount from a manual Accord, correct?
The automatic mounts will not work.

Well heres the story...we tried using all the Accord mounts, and the engine fits, but it is too close to the drivers side frame rail, the power steering belt and crank pulley are touching the frame rail.
Also, the engine is tiletd downward towards the passenger side, and it is not perfectly straight, it is crooked in the engine bay.
With the Accord transmission mount, it is not even close to lining up with the passenger side mount.
Its like the whole engine has to come over towards the passenger side, and the transmission has to come up further.
WTF???!!

my engine sits like that. I have no problems with it moving, the crank pulley is about 3 mm away from the frame rail. I have to undo the mounts to change belts!
The only way to fix this is to cut off the tranny bracket thats welded in the car on the passenger's side, and weld in the correct bracket (from a 5 speed.). You can order this weld-in part from honda.
Either rear mount will work.

That's what my next step was...to weld in the manual frame rail mount...
Then at least there will be tons of clearance and it will sit straight. I just wasn't sure if I could order just the mount or not.
Thanks
