Default h22a intake control solenoid valve

i am putting a 94 h22a into a 94 cx. if the intake control solenoid valve is not hooked up, will it throw a check engine light? it is supposed to have vaccum lines going to the intake manifold and it is wired to the ecu to A19 i believe. i am using a p13 ecu.

if you are referring to the IACV (idle air control valve), then yes, you will be throwing a code (code 14, specifically)

if you are referring to A19's pin-out, it's a yellow wire going to the lock up control solenoids, and no. they are not on the H22 and will be an extra harness.

These only come on the D16Z6 harnesses and are not needed on the h22.

Yeah meant to ask you poison. If your secondaries are not hooked up do you get a CEL code or no??

No....it wont set your CEL....the only thing that the computer does that interacts with your IAB's or ICS is give them a ground......the computer doesnt look to see if there not working

Damn and with the swap although I know everything got wired I remember reading that you did your Secondaries seperate from the harness.. Gimme more info. The car now feels hella strong even without vtec for the moment. But if there is more that I can do to it I would want to know..

I thought I heard a distinct chaning over at 4k rpms though..

Lack of the ICS will not cause a CEL.

Just clarifying. Thanks.

BTW, ICS and the secondary butterflies are two different things. ICS controls a valve in the bumper mounted intake resonator of Preludes.

Hrrmm.....uhh what? the only thing I was talking about is the IAB's (secondary butterflies in your intake) if your car feels good in vtec (which is when the secondaries would be open anyway) then it isnt gonna change a bit.

The ECU gives a ground to your IAB's when the RPM's are less than 4900 (which uses long runners and some type of "resonating" effect to scavange as much air as possible at low rpm.) Then at 4900+ it opens anyway....so vtec isnt effected in your case.

Yeah I am talking about IAB. The only reason why I asked is because most posts that I read here say that theirs wasnt working when they did their swap. So I wondered to myself if you got a code if they werent. As of now I get no codes but the reason my vtec is disabled is because i have to change a coolant sensor. (Side note from the topic sorry). But for me I wired up everything and believe my secondaries to be working..

And no poison for some reason I got a rouge ECU because I get no code for EGR and its not connected at all. Right now my car is code free but the radiator fan comes on as soon as you turn the key. Gonna change the sensor tomorrow and see what happens then.

And I also got the Spoon chip. Will install it next weekend and see what is up from there.

I missed what you had said about your cel being on from the EGR.......do you know why its throwing the code? Did you get an EGR solenoid off a prelude to work your egr valve?

ya it's throwing the code because when i swapped the motor it's not hooked up

and with alot of other p13's it doesn't throw code 12 on jdm p13's, apparently it does on mine. i might consider wiring the thing up when i'm bored enough.

i too am getting code 12 on my jdm p13, it doesnt come on right away it comes on after a few minutes of driving. I also have a question though, ,sometimes my car ripps and other times it feels like vtec isnt working do you h22 guys experience anything like this? I check the code and like I said I only get EGR code.
