Default H22A Distributor Cap

The distributor on our H22A had a rather larger crack in it when we got the engine so we were wondering what car to ask for a cap from at the parts store?

Thanks,
Ben

Well depending on if you have your stock motor, and what year your stock motor is out of your civic, assuming your putting the h22 in your civic, you should be able to get it away with using that one. But if you trying to just buy a brand new one, why dont you just ask for a prelude distributer or whatever part is crack on it.

just remember that the auto parts store only sell USDM prelude parts, the part you will need is froma JDM H22. USDM caps are way different than JDM. Jsut make it easy on yourself and get a civic distributor cap and put it on the H22 distributor.HTH

Oh yeah I guess I should have mentioned that this is going into a 1992 Prelude SI. Any more help would be appreciated.

If it's US and has the external coil, then get the US Prelude cap for it.

If it's JDM with an internal coil, then get the 92-95 Civic cap for it, as it's the same and fits perfectly.

Thanks man - its the JDM one with the internal coil. Which Civic engine do we need the cap for... or does it even matter?

Doesn't matter... all of the 92-95 Civic caps are the same. You can use the rotor also on your JDM H22A distributor.
