- move stock intake springs to exhaust side
- install type-s intake springs to intake side
- higher rev limit? how high?

i know that with a gsr, if you switch the intake springs to the exhaust side and get a set of itr intake springs, the result is very similar (if not the same) as an itr, and therefore allowing for a higher rev limit. so i was wondering if this train of thought will be the same for the h22a head.

That's a very strange budget valvetrain upgrade.

I would expect with that type of valve train using OEM parts, then I would imagine the rev limit would be most likely up'ed safely to 8000.

It MAJORLY depends on what cams you get, however, and even if you make power that high of RPM.

which cams do you recommend? i am debating between the type-s cams on the low end and either skunk2 or jun cams on the high end. let me know which you think would be better and why. thanks.

I'd say some Type S cams. I'd go with a 1 layer headgasket to get higher compression with 'em. That'd make some very nice power

First of all type S anything sucks. Second, intake and exhaust springs on the H22 are the same, switching them is a waste. If you want a true effective budget valvetrain for the H22 here it is: Portflow valve springs (200) work with stock retainers, which are heavy but strong. Then go with crower stage 2 cams which are drastically more aggressive than crap type s cams. You need some fuel management to get gains from the cams though. H22 is very touchy with its power gains. You gotta mess with fuel to get it all. Anyhoo, with that setup you could go to 8000 rpms maybe 8300 rpms......Gains of 15 whp are realistic, the type s will only give you 5 to 7 whp at best....
