h22a or b18c5 in a dx civic coupe...
Ok i finally sold my 95 gsr and got $8500 for it.. i got a 94 civic dx coupe w/out motor ..but with gsr front and rear disc, greddy evo exaust, perfect cond. body and clean title that i can buy for $2500.. Now this is a good deal on a 94 civic coupe for the seattle,wa area. Now i was totally planning on gettin a hatch BUT its real hard to find one in my area now, since everyone is getting em and everybody jacks the price up on them cause all the racers around here, lol. Anyways with this civic coupe should i spend a good $5500 and get a jdm itr motor?or spend abotu $4000 and get a 92-95 h22a and drop it in?i was def. gonna get the b18c-R for the hatchback.. but now this car is kinda a diff. story.. i think the torque of the h22a would be a little better than the b18c in the coupe cause its a little heavier than the hatch i was plannin on gettin. BUT if i get a h22a it will be a 92-95... if i get a jdm itr it will be a 96+ (ITR will most likely last longer cause it will be newer motor=less miles)
-Most of all i want like to hear a little info. from people only have either one of these swaps in a civic coupe 92-95

i went with the b18c-r. Im sure someone here will disagree with my choice but I dont care lol. They are both really good motors. Really just depends on what you want to do i guess.

Re: h22a or b18c5 in a dx civic coupe... (b16hatch)
This topic has been covered many times. H22 has more torque but weighs about 70 lbs. more than the R spec. R spec is more $$$ but H22 needs axles, mounting kit, minor shifter modifications, and slightly trickin out the ECU. In the end, I think they're both worth the money, You'll end up spending the same amount when it's all done anyway, give or take a few $$$ or if you do the work yourself or not.
