Default H22 Tranny Bracket Help

I bought a H22 JDM tranny and motor to go in my non-vtec Prelude.

My mechanic called and said that the transmission wont bolt up.

What do I need to do? He said he thinks the bracket must be different.

Can anyone help me? Thanks.

It SHOULD bolt up. Is your current car an auto or manual?

I have a 95 Prelude Si, and dropped in an H22a4. Everything bolts right up.

Yeah, I have a manual transmission.

My mechanic was just getting ready to drop in the motor and transmission. I bought a JDM H22 with transmission. He said that the bolt pattern for the brackets on the transmission are the same, but in a different location.

This just doesnt make any sense to me. I am putting H22 engine in a H23 prelude. I called Honda and they said the part numbers for all the transmission for Vtec and Non-Vtec are the same.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure what he meant. But it SHOULD bolt up correctly. How is he putting it in? It's easier if he tilt the motor with tranny side lower and use a floor jack to move the tranny up into the mount. Is the bracket on correctly?...maybe it's on backwards?

Or can you go to the shop and take some pics? I have no idea what he means...

OK, I went by there and took a look at it to see what was going on.

Again, I am replacing my original H23 engine and tranny in a 92 Prelude with a JDM H22 and tranny. The JDM tranny I bought is missing the tranny mount.

The bolt pattern on the JDM tranny is different than on the USDM tranny. There is absolutely no way that the USDM tranny mount will fot the JDM tranny.

What is the solution?

By the way, I have already checked and USDM tranny mounts for vtec and non-vtec and Accords and Preludes all use the same tranny mount...so I am assuming only a JDM mount will work?
