h22 traction problems?
A friend of mine has got the h23 in his civic and has traction problems. I wanted to do the h22 swap but then his car with an h23 already has traction problems. Are there ways to lessen traction? If so.. what?.. Thanks.

i got a question for you guys. Is the traction problem because of weight or what? Is the civic too light for the h22? Just wondering cause i have a LOT of weight in my trunk cause i comete in usac and was wondering if i would still have these traction problems even though my car is pushing stock lude weight right now.
you need the weight up front not the trunk. also theres a big problem with traction due to --light civic--high torque(well for a honda motor)h22---
Like the guys said earlier feather and get stickier tires.

Yup. I have a gsr in my civic, I learned how to feather the clutch and not floor it and the car launchs so much better(don't drop the clutch at liek 3 grand, or your jsut do a big burnout, and have to shift to second right away, and loose all your rpm's, but get sticky tires, and maybe some suspention.
um what?
your gonna have problems with ANY h series engine.
i hope that helped
the only thing you can do is stickier tires or smaller engine.

How come when people have traction problems with a turbo setup it's cuz the engine is soooooo powerful.
But when you have almost the same power in an H series, it's the 'heavy *** engine's fault?
I don't think people say the motor is too heavy, cause any idiot can think for a second and figure out that if you put more weight in the front, over the tires that spin, that it will get better traction. WHy do I put sand bags in my truck in winter, to get better traction. Don't think yoru engine is too heavy, having a ton of weight in the back of your civic won't help the traction problem. And Unless you have like 10 15" subs in your civic, i doubt its at the weight of a lude. But even if you have the h22 in a lude, you can still dump the clutch and have traction problems. A metro can have traction problems if you rev the **** out of it and dump the clutch. Just drive your car around and get use to it, then get sticky tires. but don't burn out your clutch practicing your launch. I hope that helps. Good luck
