H22 swap HELP!!!!!!
Ok here is the problem.
we just finished swaping an h22 into my 97 EK
we cranked it up and something wierd happens to the timing
Its set on 15 on iddle but when you rev it, the timing goes down and the engine goes "brrrood, brrod, ..ect like it wants to die and then when you rev it some more it goes up normaly i know its not right or normal what can it be?
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Any codes at all?
Make sure there is also no vacuum leaks and the idle screw adjusted properly.
You also may want to clean the IACV.

you cant look at code when you do an obd2 to obd1
and i dont think grounds will make you timing go backwards instead of forwards.

well your "brod broddd" isn't saying much either.
And you CAN check codes with an OBD2->OBD1 jumper. Grounds can also cause this as well.
And it's the IACV which means Idle Air Control Valve. Take it off the intake manifold and clean it with carb or brake cleaner.
