h22 shifter cables

Might be a stupid question but.....on an EG, how do you get the shifter cables between the steering rack and body ? It's a really tight fit.

KY jelly!

just wiggle them in. Or you coul run them around the rack.

yeah, right now I have them around the rack but, they wont make it to the shifter. If I leave them like this, my shifter will be too far forward. But KY seems like a good idea
