Default smart people look here..

ok heres my problems...
car runs sluggish when timing is set correctly and the knock sensor cel comes on after about 45 seconds. So i have it advanced pretty far, as a result, the car idles at about 2300-2500 rpm. AND when i am driving, if I stop the car and then start it again it will run horrible. Very bad hesitation when at part throttle and the idle drops to about 1200-1500 rpms, but if i turn the car off and back on again quickly it will start working good again. Very weird. any help would be great.

Vacuum leak? Did you do a timing belt on the motor? Check your grounds too

Sounds to me like the MAP sensor isn't getting the right vacuum, faulty/dirty IACV, or incorrect TPS setting.

well. i do hear a hiss commin from the intake manifold area but i cannot pinpoint it. And i have replaced all the gaskets on the manifold. Cant figure out where its commin from. Anyways... how i can chck for a leak? Oh, and the car threw a timing belt when I was outta town last week so its brand new. I dunno. Getting very fustruated. btw all the grounds are in good order. but ill recheck em anyway.

I would recommend capping off every nipple on there (the ones mainly going to the IAB box underneath the intake manifold).

could be possible you have a leak in that black box.

also put your hand on the throttle body and see if the motor dies at all.

newbie question here for poison ...but what you said about the throttle body...IT IS supposed to turn off if you cover the throttle body rite because then that would mean that there is a leak? please clarify this for me

If the car threw a timing belt then it is a possibility that you have bent vavles. I would do a compression test to be sure, but that is what I would think first..

Sorry to say though...
