Default h22 finished shaking like a ****

my h22 swap is finished no codes no problems..except anything over 25 mph the car shakes violently...I am going to raise the ca up an inch to see if it is axles related...anyone have this problem?....that's all it could be is the axles right???

first gear is ruthless need I say more....actually what first gear....bald dry rotted tires weren't helping the situation....thinking about getting some BFG KD's if I can find them in a 14"....hooked up nice on a traction issue having supra...so I think they'd do the job for me

btw

fender was sitting right above top of the tire 195/60/14 hopefully raising it up some will help.

Im sure you could try raising it, but I would go back to Newman's post about axles and see which ones you could change to. I dont know to much about Integra axles because I just bought DSS axles. But good luck.

My car was lowered with race springs with my h22 a few months back and vibrations were pretty noticeable. I raised my car up to a 1inch drop with TEIN's and now I don't feel the vibrations as much. But if you really want to minimize vibrations, I believe the Hasport kit will minimize the vibrations even more. I have Place Racing mounts on mine.

Hmm, I am not sure on HCP mounts, but when I do swaps I do the rear mount first, driver side, then tranny mount.

I hope more HCP H22 users can post up their experiences..

don't you have to bolt the rear up first anyway...that is the hardest one well for me....anyway how would the order of the mounts being tightened cause the car to shake at speeds over 25 mph...at idle it is fine...

when i retightend mine, i did it like posion said. for me though it was no help. Place racing had sent me a "BAD" mount. which caused other problems.

how are your axles angle???? mine looked really bad. up and back. might want to call HCP and find out if they recomend anything.......

It's pretty bad with any mount kit. You're never going to get the angle very good, even if your car is at stock height. You're always going to have at least one bad angle (because of how far forward the engine sits), versus two if you're also lowered.

I have no vibration issues now. Using HCP mounts with dss stage III axles..
I did before but it was a combination of wrong axle length, which was corrected by DSS, and bad tires..

No issues now and my car is pretty much dropped to the tire..

I had a crazy angle on my passenger side axle inner boot. The boot rub against itself so much that it tore a hole in the boot, and sprayed grease all the underside of my car. Pretty nasty. I called up Frank at DSS and he put this groovy boot on it with one less bellow and now it doesnt seem to be rubbing at all. That is about the extent of axle issues I have had with my car using HCP mounts and DSS level 1 axles on an ek.

I have the HCP kit and no compaints yet. I did have that shake you describe and it actually ended up being my axles. I had orignially used 90 teg axles then switched for 89 teg axles and the vibration went away.

ah ****, i started with dirver side first, then the passenger side went in. after that my rear was a bitch to put it in, had my friend use a hammer to fit it in =P. now i think thats why my whole interrior shakes.

Vibration with a mount kit is either cause by the axles binding and/or a bracket (most of the time rear) touching the chassis in one way or another. For axles and using the HCP mount kit (if it is an HCP kit.... lots of knock offs out there and I've seen people lately selling the knock off kits and relabeling them as HCP ), you can check out what I wrote up awhile back about what axle combos try out: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=434668

I HAD to use a 88-89 AXEL on my drivers side and retain a 90-93 passenger side...

Are you using Accord Intermed. shaft with the 88-89 teg axle?

it's your axles. I had the same problem, raised the car and it was fine! At that time, I was using accord intermediate shaft and 90-93 integra axles with hasport mounts. Now I am using Driveshaft shop axles with prelude intermediate shaft, and I have lowered it back down and it is fine. Good luck.

Get the Falken Azenis, they come in a 195/60/14 and avg for around $50 each, and they stick like a ****

Dunlop SP 8000 also come in a 195/55/14 for around $75 each, theyre a little quieter and probably last a tad longer, wet traction is better but the dry traction isnt quite as sticky as the Azenis and theyre more money. I cant really think of any other real performance tires other than some R compunds other than those two
