Re: H22 build QUESTION (atlplayer4life90)
because the h22 block is made from a material called FRM . forged pistons and FRM is not a good combo. If you look in the prelude forum there is a FAQ thread and it will tell you everything you need to know...

Just a note on top of that is a piston company named Mahle makes pistons that are FRM compatable. Tyler Hara had great sucess with them while others were not too impressed. Just something to keep in mind as an alternative to sleeving

I think he meant mixed results. I myself have notreally seen too many results wither way with these pistons although i was considering doing them. They cost around 550 so its not too bad.
What are you looking to do with the motor- going NA or boost?

Yeah I meant mixed...sorry if that confused you. Id say for the price you really can't go wrong. If i was to build a mild boost engine id try them for sure

Re: H22 build QUESTION (atlplayer4life90)
ok so just run some type s pistons which are 11:1 compression ratio. You can run up to about 12.5:1 on pump gas but I mean I need to know your power goals and use of the car to better give you an opinion. Also are you building it, paying someone else, and how much money do you have?

exactly what i was going to say.
You can even run an h23 crank and rods and have them fitted to the type s pistons for little more stroke and will bump the CR up too
