Default GSR into EF

Hey guys I need some help.. this is my first post here so hook it up. I got a b16 in my EF hatch, I am planning to put my fully built GSR in as soon as my new mounts get here. my b16 is out and I am looking at the wiring harnesses.. what do I need to do wiring wise to get my b18c running as good as it did when it was in my 4-door DA??? Thanks in advance

im doing the same thing as you matter of fact all i have left is the wiring place racing has what you want but its expensive and they are backed up for a while wich is my problem i dont know if any one else does it but if you find out e-mail me BLU98CVC@msn.com just so you know the motor is a tight fit and yes go with the skunk2 intake

You need a non OBD to OBD adapter for the ECU plugs so that you can use the GSR ECU, for starters. As for the engine wiring harness, you will need to change the distrib plugs, injector plugs, put a gang plug where the injector resistor pack was, and change the radiator fan switch plug. You will need to add the AIB wires (one to ground and one to ECU) and convert the primary O2 sensor to a 4 wire (one wire to sensor ground, one to ECU for heater control, and one to power and the signal wire stays the same) O2 sensor. Don't worry about converting to the GSR VSS as the instrument cluster takes car of that for you. Oh yeah, you will want to extend the MAP and purge cutoff wires on the firewall to reach the GSR manifold. A few things on the stock engine harness will need to be lengthened to fit on the B18C.

Why not DITCH the dual-butterfly manifold for a Skunk2 manifold and have someone reprogram your PR3 or PWO ECU to run the B18C1 much like a B18C5 program?

That's what my friend is doing in his EF. He's got the butterfly on vacuum temporarily until he gets the Skunk2 and the ECU re-chipped.

While the ECU is being done, have the speed limiter taken out too!

you'll need to use your B16A distributor too.

That's funny. Where have you been? I just did a group buy for OBD0-OBD1 conversion harnesses over in the EF forum. Sold like 7 of them for 100. Now they are regular price of 140.00 +shipping. Still 100 less than anyone else. Let me know

I have a GS-R swap and was wondering if it would be wise to get a Skunk2 Type-R style manifold that they make for the B18C1? If it eliminates the secondary butterflies, then wouldn't it cause my ecu to throw a code for that sensor?

If you get the Sk2 manifold, you will lose some mid-range power but gain it up top. It won't throw a code. If you want to gain that mid-range power, get bigger cams.
