got a k20 swapped but no spark? no.1 coil pack gets super hot??...chances are...
recently encountered an issue with a k swap that had no spark, but had fuel, and good compression. also the timing was dead on. Upon further troubleshooting we figured out the ecu and engine harness that were being used, weren't compatible. the car had a 05 06 prb engine harness and an 02 04 pnd ecu. this combination will cause the no.1 cylinder coil (closest to the timing chain) to get extremely hot and even melt if the key is left on long enough. as long as the key is left in the on position you will for sure be damaging the coil. the reason for this is because the coil signal wire positioning are in a different spot on both engine harnesses. so just keep in mind to make sure the ecu and engine harness you are using are of the same year or anything compatible. so if you are using 02-04 engine harness make sure you have an 02-04 ecu that works. same goes for the 05-06 harness, use an 05-06 ecu...
