got a H22A1, made a list to see if it is all what i need. help me out
I know there are several h22a in eg threads. but i just made this post to be sure that i got the right list.
ok let me explain what exactly i got. i got everything out of a wrecked 93 prelude vtec, a friend sold it to me. it has motor, tranny, alternator, dizzy, ecu, wiring harness, shift linkage, shifter, intermediate shaft, no axles and all sensors on it. he said the timing belt was replaced earlier, it has 147k miles on motor.
my list of things needed are
190 or 255 lph walboro pump
HCP mount
dremel bits to cut hole for shift cable
misc hoses
intake tube
magnaflow exhaust
head gasket since the head was taken off due to he was planning to part it out but instead sold to me.
misc gaskets like valve cover, etc.
I am not sure of what axles i would need. plus can i take the civic wiring harness out, and put in the prelude wiring harness? or will there be some conflicts for that?
i am going to run stock civic radiator and fan for now since it will be put in in sept, then put back in garage for winter around nov. then in winter, i will get the proper radiator and fan.
what else am i forgetting?

If your going to get the fuel pump I hear you need an adjustable FPR.
DONT waste your time with 90-93 accord axles and midshaft, it still shakes, do it right and get drive shaft shop.com h22 eg hybrid axles.
You can run the stock fan but the h22's hydraulic clutch will rub against the fan blades ever so slightly to make an annoying buzzing sound. I got a 120cfm FAL slimline fan for mine and keeps the temperature on the cluster, one bar down from middle.
Even if you could use the prelude harness, its way easier to use the civic harness.
You will need to wire in the Knock Sensor, 2 EGR sensors, IAB's and if you want to run the cold start valve that sits in the prelude bumper which isnt needed at all.
I unraveled the tape off my civic harness and put all those other sensors wires in there so it was clean and looked stock.
About the fuel pump, i have the one made for a del sol si(d16z6) and my motor runs great, damn fast. But i wont doubt that it would run better with the upgraded one.

ok well, about the axles, is there any another alternatives which is much cheaper that i could find at a junk yard or get at autozone that would fit with the prelude midshaft?

Re: (VTECR021)
I believe it is a prelude midhaft, custom prelude drivers axle with the outer knuckle of a 86-89 integra, and 86-89 integra passenger side axle....but I don't remeber 100%....still hung over from last nght...speaking of which, you should add a 12 pack to list, cause once you get it in and running I'm sure you will want a cold 1 or 2

ok so i would need a prelude drivers side axle, and a 86-89 integra passenger side axle and either side 86-89 integra axle for the knuckle, and take it from a junkyard, and then put that knuckle on the prelude axle? am i correct on those terms?

Re: (BIGBLOCKEK)
change the oil pump and water pump along with the thermostat. I would also recommend buying a lower end and top end gasket SETS. comes with everything from oil pan gasket to valve cover gasket. new clutch and release bearing, Motor has 100K + miles So i recommend doing all this before you install the motor

Hey nobody ever said racing was cheap. Basically you either do it right the first time or your just another guy who keeps spending more and more money because your drag slicks broke the axles every time.

well im just wanting to get it in my car for now until late oct or nov, then park it in my garage, take the motor out and rebuild it. so for now i just want to leave what is already on it, clutch is still in great condition.
the axles i just want to use what will work for cheap until time to put it away, then the correct axles will go in which are from driveshaftshop.com
if it breaks down, then ill just put it away, drive my secondary vehicle. then by spring or summer, it will be back on road but with the proper parts to make it run longer and new internals.

and the ealier route as well, but keep the prelude midshaft for the driveshaftshop axles later on down the road

oh one other thing, im reading some articles on about this particular swap, and with the orginal civic wiring harness it requires to modify a few wirings and connectors. while the prelude wiring harness already has the proper connectors and such and are also proper length. and use the existing injector resitor pack from the prelude. all you would just need to do is rewire the accessory wires like gauges.
so my question is why not use the prelude wiring harness?

Re: (VTECR021)
The ludes harness plugs in opposite the civic(driver sider) Make sure you get the map sensor and other junk off the fire wall along with the resistor box.

Re: (slopoke1)
Rewiring the civic harness for the h22 won't be too hard...lengthening wires, adding vtec, knock sensor, and secondary wires in, and wiring in the resistor pack is not too difficult either...thanks god for h-t, without it my car would be a hell of a lot slower!!

got the motor thursday! ok about the exhaust, if i get the magnaflow full exhaust system for 92-95 civic hatch, and use the stock prelude header and downpipe, what do i do for the mid pipe? use testpipe? or use what? i do not have the orignal prelude catylitic convertor.
here are some pictures of the engine.

Re: (VTECR021)
For the exhaust a 92-95 civic exhaust will match right up, mine did I have an AN-R header with Kteller's civic hatch back piping. Also, you could use the Civic slave cylinder since the bleeding nipple is angled away from the radiator, and does face directly into the radiator like the prelude clutch slave cylinder.
As for axles, I am using 90-93 integra axles, with the Prlude INT shaft on the driuver's side. Some of the vutting would be easier with a Sawzall especially for the mount you have to cut. I'm sure a drememl could do it too.
One more thing, a B&M fuel pressure reg and fuel guage kit and be picked up for around 80 bucks from either http://www.TitanMotorsports.com or http://www.lightningmotorsports.com (Ht name : lightning)
