intake and headers could get you into the 12's with good traction.

Yeah basically what he said. I would say at least under $3k.

When I did mine I already had GSR tranny, axles, and shift linkage.

So all I had to buy was motor and adpater plate.

I spent $1100 for motor, and 800 for adapter plate. So all in all $1900 and I am now K-series fast, with out dropping around $7k. So all in all it is a great swap to do.

Good write up, any reason you went with the QSD kit over the few others on the market

Hey i also had a question about the motor mounts. right now in my garage i have some crappy B series mounts from a si civic 99 and i also have the H22a mounts into a ek in my garage, what ones will i need to use??? also would you guys change the water pump on the engine if you got one from streetimports.com? or do those not go out very often, and does anyone want to trade a b16 tranny for a gsr

thanks
Daron

I would reccomend you go with some aftermarket EK b-series mounts. The stock b-series mounts for a ek will not be enough to hold the amount of power you will put on them. The h series mounts you can just sell, you will not need them at all.

thanks for the information brax. it really is nice to have all of you guys on here helping me out like this. I live up in washington and some of the car shops are actually trying to get me to pay them for there information! its unreal. and do you think this is going to be swap that i can do with my friends that have done b series swaps before. i just bought the cherry picker today. and the import shop up here wants me to pay them 1000 dollars to install it. and another question, you know the starter on the tranny. do i have to get a b series one of do i use the one off of the h series. or can i use either? i hope this thread is still going when i start my swap in two weeks... i can tell i am going to have lots of questions!
thanks guys

This is the right B-series starter that is needed. Courtesy of Skunked.

And Skunked you are the reason I made this thread, I saw yours about a year ago and planted the H2B seed in my head. Thanx for the inspiration.

I believe it is just the cable tranny years. 90-93 I believe.

The starter you need is a 94-01 b-series starter.

man o man I love all of you guys !!! lol
i would be sooo lost with my swap without ya'll
haha.... almost ready to buy it from seth!!! all i need is a flywheel and a clutch. i have the motor mounts but i think i am going to go with your guys advice and get the thicker after market b series instead of the stock si mounts..
oh ya and another question: can i use the engine harness off a usdm h22, because my motor says "h22a" but it came from a right hand drive car. so i think it came from a canadian car? but anyway if i did do that would that be easier then using my d series, my car is a 97 so i think i need a obd2a to a obd1 correct? just let me know my options before i go and buy what i dont want. and what tranmission would you'll go with? i have a si tranny in my garage but i heard that i will be topping out at 120? is the gsr really that much longer? or the ls good?

thanks guys
Daron

first of all keep the SI tranny...... and what you need to do is use your D series engine harness and mod it to fit/work with the H22 and also convert from obd2a to obd1

thats a ridiculous build i thought it would be alot harder motor swap but u guys made it sound good and to run low 12's in the 1/4 with nothing done to the internals or a shot. ill take that any day. cant wait to see some times with nitrous and some internals i think u guys will get down to high 10's with it.
