found a typeR motor cheap, newbie wants info.
Hi there. I have a toyota supra that needs a motor and I know a guy who really wants it. He said he has a type R motor he'd trade me for it. It would be going into my 89 civic hatch CX. P.S. I didn't pay much for this supra either lol.
Aside from the VTECH wiring problems, would this be any more difficult than an LS b18 swap? How deep over my head am I getting myself into if this deal goes through? He tells me he's got several other engines so I'll see what he's got before I make and decisions.
I'm fully capable of doing an LS swap by myself but a TypeR sounds kinda intimidating.
I think I might stick to LS cuz I may want to go turbo later. But, I really want a VTECH lol.
Jordan.

A bseries is a bseries is a bseries. All of their swaps are 99% the same, except some of them have VTEC to wire up. It will be no harder than an LS swap w/ some extra wiring involved.
