Default Finshed B20-VTEC setup

Finally got this sucker outta here (actually, I'm driving it tonight and tomorrow to break in, and then give to owner on Monday). Some picts of what we started and finished today. Built the motor up on Thursday and finished it up on Friday.... wish I took picts of that . Setup is JDM B20B block w/ported B16A head, ITR manifold, CTR cams, ITR valve springs, TI retainers, JE 10.8:1 pistons, polished crank & shot peaned stock rods, Y21 tranny and Mugen P28 ECU (just a "mild" build up, IMO). Hooked PS and AC back up too. Still breaking it in so I'm not getting on it, but compared to a stock H22 motor, the H22 motor still has more torque and better throttle response, IMO. When it's broken in, I'll have it brought back so I can test it out and see how it really feels compared to a stock JDM H22 motor, but first impressions are pretty good so far. I still like the H22 throttle response and extra torque but this setup seems like it's going to be fun to drive .

BTW, I'll post picts up on Monday of what a 92-95 Civic driver side engine bracket looks like, and what a B20 bracket looks like, and why you need to swap it out. The other guy dropped the motor in w/out changing it out and the motor was waaaaay low on the driver side, like the mount was busted. But the funny thing is, the Orthia B20 bracket is the same as EG, but the CRV B20 bracket is too tall, thus putting the driver side too low.... go figure.

clean setup. We're almost done with our b20/vtec setup. The only thing holding us back is getting the correct torque specs on the head studs. We're running custom 12.5:1 wiseco pistons, shotpeened rods, stock crank and the entire rotating assembley is balanced and bluprinted, ported b16 head, prodrive oil pump gears,skunk2 intake mani and RC440's.what fuel mods did u guys use?if you're using stock b16 injectors and fuel system, you'll be running lean for the b20vtec....especially with the 10.5:1c/r.

We use, and always have used, the stock torque settings found in the Helms. Never had a problem with any of our motors - our same builder did my original LS/VTEC back in 1997.... that thing was bulletproof and handled numerous mis-shifts (with my Mugen PR3) to 10,000 rpms .

I had 440cc injectors in my similar setup. It didn't work. It suttered like a **** in 3rd and 4th gear especially. I tried everything. Lastly, I change injectors to some 92-96 Prelude VTEC (345cc) and it has ran beautifully since. I even tried lowering the fuel pressure on those 440's and it still wouldn't work. You may be able to get it to work as long as you are using Hondata or something similar.

I currently am using stock GSR injectors, Walbro 255 pump and 52psi at the rail. It seems to be actually running rich. I am going to put it on a wide band shortly.
