Default Few last problems with swap. Any help?

I haven't been able to get over to my buddy's house to give him a hand but he just swapped a b18a1? into an old 91 civic.

The check engine light was blinking and he had that checked out. Turns out the code is for the crank pos sensor. Would this mean it's going bad and need to be replaced?

Also his car runs really hot and the engine and header seem unusally hot all the time. Could the timing just be way off?

Any help would be greeeeeeeeeeeeat.
