Default F2B Ek minor issues.

hey guys Ive just swapped my F20b in my 96 ek. I have a few minor issues that ive been trying to fix. I'm not familiar with this site or the search features. Ive tried but with no luck in getting results.

I need to connect my tachometer. Im sure there is a write up about it somewhere. Can anybody please send the link. I also need to wire up my reverse lights.

Another issue is my car overheating. I'm gonna check my fan after work but when i did the swap my fan was working fine. Its currently using a civic radiator. ive read somewhere about getting a radiator from an integra with a slimfan. is this correct? any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Theres usually a thin blue wire from the distributor, thats the rpm signal wire but it depends what distributor u have, alternately you will need to wire in the tach from your cluster which also if i remember correctly is a blue wire, you take the blue wire and connect it to the distributor module - , im not 100% sure but thats what i remember..

The shop that did my harness ran an extra wire next to the distributor plug so i can wire up the tach. so pretty much run that extra wire to the negative terminal on the module inside the distributor?

I also checked my radiator fan with my power probe. the fan turned on. So either its my thermostat, radiator cap, or a bad relay im guessing. Its kinda hard to find a thermostat for an f20b. Will an h series thermostat work?

Yes, just run that wire to the module, if the tach doesnt work then try the ground pin, if not that then the positive..the H series thermostat will work, i took mine of my F20B and installed it on my H22a4, the only difference ive found so far is the Sohc and Dohc thermostats arent the same..

UPDATE:

I started the car again today. I've noticed i had a coolant leak coming from the hoses that was slightly loose, so i took care of it. Another thing my radiator fan did not turn on once, even when the temperature was well above the half mark.

I got a crap load of vacuum leaks i need to care of. I'm not too sure what the black box below is...What is it? Do i need it? Also, if i block the nipple on IM on top of the blue nipple then engine would shut off. It has a lumpy idle.

Does your IACV work? Is it hooked up? Your IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor is not connected in this picture. Make sure all sensors are connected and that terminals/wiring has continuity. Search around for some vacuum diagrams and make sure all your hoses are going to the right places. Once you have everything properly connected and everything works, you can start to diagnose your issues.

Is your engine light on? What codes do you have?

I just bought an IAC from an h22a4.

It has a CEL, I gotta scan it tonight.

The IAT sensor is broken. Would this give me a bad idle?

Ok i Fixed all my vacuum leaks. Car idles FRESHH lol.

I still have my overheating problem. I noticed the radiator hose connecting to the thermostat never gets hot so i have to change that thermostat. Will an H series thermostat work? the f20b thermostat is really BIG, doesnt look like an h series thermostat.

overheating issue is fixed! turned out to be air in the cooling system.

My idle still isnt perfect. Should the two coolant lines from the IAC be connected? I think one line goes to the thermostat housing. where does the other one go?

I never ran those coolant lines in my car and it ran fine. It does not matter. How does it idle?
