F22 swap
Ok so I'm sure I could hunt and find info here and there but I'm tryin to get all the help I can so here's what I've got. -1990 Accord LX. F22A1. Looking at another A1 that comes with an F23 Vtec head. Would this be practical? The only reason I'm wanting this motor is so that I can have it sittin on a stand ready to drop in. It comes with 2 turbos (one is bad and will need rebuilt. Garett M3 and I forget the other.) 2 turbo manis (One for F22, One for F23, intercooler, all the piping, BOV, H23 intake mani, and just about everything else I need other than injectors and all the other little stuff. So would I be better off running the F23 w/vtec or sellin it and gettin another F22 head like an A6? Ideas? Suggestions?

My idea is to port and match the head/intake and maybe a couple of other minor things and then assemble it all ready to drop in and then get a nice tune and be somewhere around 300hp.

sell that f23 vtec head. The f22a head is superior, hands down. You have more choices for cams, the head flows better out of the box (and has more potential), the f22a intake ports dworf the f23vtec, the exhuast ports are more direct with equal spacing. An A6 head is not much better than the a1 you've already got either. The only difference in those two heads is better springs in the a6. An a6 intake manifold would be a good upgrade, proven power adder, AND you can swap the plenum + throttle body from your h23 intake manifold onto it since you've already got it. It's a direct swap. Theres also a plenum riser that somebody makes that sits on top of the butterfly plate increasing plenum volume thats dyno proven to add about 5hp. This setup + turbo will get you 300 hp without a hitch with the right turbo and tuning.
