both have a 11:1 compression ratio from the research i have done and both have hp in the 200 range but cant find which is heavier/ more reliable or a easier swap into my ej1 since it would be my first swap cant really seem to find much info on swaps on the f20b any links or any help thanks

i believe the F20b has cast iron sleeves, which in my opinion is a plus... i think the h22 has the FRM sleeves

agree b series will fit if you have the proper motor mounts

you are correct. ive also noticed that with the f20b vtec is very quiet and not to noticable. h22 has more tq and bigger displacement both are a plus.

not being rude but he probably wants to be different or go with a bigger motor. if he wants more work let him.

from what I hear, H-series motor + B-series tranny = good setup

good call, cause you get both displacement and RPM band. i forgot who sells the adapter to bolt a b series tranny to an h series motor.

QSD I believe is the name.

You want an h2b or F2b (which is the same thing) kit.

Just uses a b series transmission to an H swap.

Idk who's f20b you herd but vtec on it is pretty loud i had a full f20b and still have the head from it on my f22 block vtec is definitely like a b16 at least it was on mine. I had it in a 92 prelude and this thing had enough torque to beat b16 hatches and bubbles and stretching ls swapped civics. And then i put it on my 92 civic sedan that was just nothing to mess with it also had a f22 trans so that's something i can brag about.

The weight of the engine is insignificant.

Where else are you going to get 30whp/30wtq?

The QSD kit makes the H2B swap effectively a B-series. It even uses B-series mounts.

There's even a FAQ at the top of the forum: https://honda-tech.com/forums/hybrid-engine-swaps-18/h2b-f2b-faq-1998426/

Anyone who does a regular h22/f20 swap is a moron, in my opinion. The $750 QSD kit is the most bang for buck you will ever get out of a performance modification.

There is absolutely no reason to do a regular h22 swap these days. Period.

i read it but i dont understand why it creates power is it just the gearing that frees up horsepower or is it just PFM(Pure fu**ing Magic)

Short gear ratios, more durable trans, better axle position, and shift linkage instead of the god awful shift cables

Getting a chipped p28, a 70mm tb, and a good h2b header to go with the swap is the easiest way to make a lot of power off of a tune on a stock motor.

My stock H23A Bluetopswap with a custom ITR trans is just going to have basic bolt ons and a 2.5" exhaust.

I won't be terribly surprised if I see 220whp on a tune. Completely stock motor.

I wish I could have B16 trans in my F20B RHD BB6 Prelude. Or a 98 Spec ITR trans.

"Best" is highly subjective.

I'm having a guy local to me build me a transmission.

ITR spec gearing, 4.4FD
Synchrotech Carbon Synchros
LS 5th gear (3400rpm@ 80mph instead of 4000rpm)
New Bearings
MFactory LSD

This should be a good compromise between short gearing, and still manage decent highway mileage.

Transmissions are a whole new ball game, here's a basic gist:

LS transmission = pretty normal, economy car gearing
GSR transmission = somewhat short gears, sometimes finicky transition in power, good for highway
b16 transmission = super short gears 4.4FD
ITR Transmission = Same gears as b16, I believe comes with 3rd and 4th gear carbon synchros, 4.4 or 4.7 FD depending on which year, and OEM Honda LSD

LSD costs extra, a lot extra, and puts the power to the ground more effectively. (in a nutshell)

Any of these transmissions would be fine, the only one everyone will steer you away from is the LS transmission.

I'm actually getting my f20b bored and stroked right now with 4.7 itr tranny. I myself am undecided on IM not sure on skunk or euro r or obx itbs. Going with logic tri y headers. Can't wait just sitting here waiting for the phone call from RS machine.

I wouldn't even fool around with the ITBS. They are not guaranteed power, and especially not on a stock motor. I don't know all the details of your swap, but I would go with this:

http://www.roskoracing.com/Euro_R_Manifolds.html

Rosko is the man!!!

Keep in mind it's a major pain in the *** to tune ITBS. So if you aren't tuning it yourself expect to spend $500+ dyno time.
