Well you should definitely go with h2b kit it's pricey but it's worth it if i had the money i would of done it but now i'm stuck with a straight h unless i do the b series trans swap but it will be a pain to reweld the parts back. Even though mine is still fast you would always have an advantage for gearing on those b series trans against a straight h swapped civic.

Re: F20b vs H22a
No itb's make power if they are tailored to the engine, and tuned properly. It's very difficult and much more time consuming to tune itb's because instead of tuning with a map sensor you tune with tps bc you can't get a constant and reliable vacuum source for the map. This makes them not very street friendly because partial throttle tuning is a nightmare.
Go h2b no matter what you won't regret it..

Re: F20b vs H22a
"Best" is highly subjective.
I'm having a guy local to me build me a transmission.
ITR spec gearing, 4.4FD
Synchrotech Carbon Synchros
LS 5th gear (3400rpm@ 80mph instead of 4000rpm)
New Bearings
MFactory LSD
This should be a good compromise between short gearing, and still manage decent highway mileage.

This guy over here just wanted to brag about how awesome his tranny is going to be
Read his build thread in his signature, it definitely makes me want to do H2b

Transmissions are a whole new ball game, here's a basic gist:
LS transmission = pretty normal, economy car gearing
GSR transmission = somewhat short gears, sometimes finicky transition in power, good for highway
b16 transmission = super short gears 4.4FD
ITR Transmission = Same gears as b16, I believe comes with 3rd and 4th gear carbon synchros, 4.4 or 4.7 FD depending on which year, and OEM Honda LSD
LSD costs extra, a lot extra, and puts the power to the ground more effectively. (in a nutshell)
Any of these transmissions would be fine, the only one everyone will steer you away from is the LS transmission.

Re: F20b vs H22a
Easiest way is if u got a d-series swap in ur car now, go H2D, if b-series then H2B and basically just swap ur longblock and use all ur oem parts... Ull be fine unless ur building it for drag then get better axles, mounts, etc..

Re: F20b vs H22a
With all the H2b's out there now I know the H series aftermarket is significantly better than what it was, but how is the aftermarket for the F20b? We know the heads are essentially the same, but what about bottom end parts? Is it possible to build these engines to the touring car spec they were made for?

Re: F20b vs H22a
Idk who's f20b you herd but vtec on it is pretty loud i had a full f20b and still have the head from it on my f22 block vtec is definitely like a b16 at least it was on mine. I had it in a 92 prelude and this thing had enough torque to beat b16 hatches and bubbles and stretching ls swapped civics. And then i put it on my 92 civic sedan that was just nothing to mess with it also had a f22 trans so that's something i can brag about.
