Hi, I am a new member here on this site and i had a few questions about an engine swap that i was thinking about doing. I found a f20b swap on hmotors and its around the budget for an engine. Ill be putting this into a 1998 honda civic ex coupe.

My questions are:

What all will i need aside from the things that the motor/tranny come with?

Is there any problems that could come up?

Will this even work without having to do any major frame work?

Id really appreciate any help or directions towards a thread with someone that has already completed a f20b swap.

Engine mounts, harness, ECU. Are you going to be getting it with the Trans, or are you planning on using a different one?

For the engine mounts, would there be any specific brand i would have to look into or type of mount? And for the harness and ecu i put a link below to the engine and what it comes with, so if you could, could you tell me what harness and ecu i would possibly need to look at? And the tranny i would be using the 5speed one that it can come with.

To add im not getting the t2t4 lsd tranny. Just so that doesnt come up.

I would go with Hasport Engine mounts. As far as the trans I am not sure, only because I am doing the same swap, but I am going to be using my B16 trans (H2B) Just make sure you get the ECU for that engine, and that it comes with the engine harness. This is all the information I have, only because I am still trying to also figure out what I need too. I plan on ordering the F20B from HMO also.

Alright, thanks. I was just going with the trans that it comes for the time being until i find something better. I will be sure to talk to them on the phone or whatever else i can so that i know what they will be sending me for sure. I have it of question to I out an f20b in a 96 honda ek with a chipped p28 and my single cam harness and it hasn't hit VTec or had the check engine like go away!!

best transmission on straight H swap is the t2w4 out of the accord Euro R best gearing second best transmission would be the m2f4 out of the 4th gen prelude vtec add a aftermarket LSD it will be nice.T2t4 will prolly be the 3rd best its had LSD just like the t2w4.With a h2b"f2b"setup I have a b16 transmission its a nice combo I had a f22 transmission on before for hwy it was nice even for a hwy a run in 3rd gear it pulls pretty good I pulled on sti with the f22 trans many other cars.
