Default F20B cable tranny help!!!!!

i'm in the process of putting a F20B in my 1992 eg hatch the only question i have that i could not find an answer to was how do i know if i have the cables at the right distance from the shifter i've never messed with cables transmissions before and i feel like and idiot i might just be over thinking the cables but i dont wont to go back and fix stuff if that is even possible

Not entirely sure what you're asking.


Are you're asking about the components that clip to the shifter assembly itself? Or the entire set of cables in relation to the shifter?


Either way, it's pretty straight forward. Just mount the cables to the shifter box, then the transmission with the OEM hardware, and you can put the shifter box where ever you want.

i was asking if the distance from the shift to where the cables come out of the harness matter im probably over think it but like i said i dont want to mess it up so just mount the shifter in normal spot and its going to work just didnt know if the cables need a certain tension or not

The cables are already set at the right tension within the sheathing. Just make sure you don't have pinch points or kinks in them.
