EX motor in a DX crx
my friend who can get approved for honda-tech for some reason, just wants to put an EX sohc 1.6 in his DX crx....he was priced 800 for the motor, axels, tranny, etc. and total for motor and install 2500 (that way out there by my standards) what all is dificcult about this swap..it bolts right in...only thing would be the vtec wireing.
anybody got some feed back on this
and the guy who quoted the price does post on here and local for me

Re: EX motor in a DX crx (jmx2323)
my friend just did a similar swap like this one.. he swapped in a d16z6 (92-95 si/ex) motor... and i believe he used his old crx si transmission... since the newer motor was using a hydro tranny... as for the vtec wiring.. he didn't have to do much... since he purchased a jdm b16a ecu from the crx sir... he had his swap done for $1150 for labor and the motor.. so i believe he got a good deal... as far as i know... I MIGHT BE WRONG... u don't need the tranny unless you use your old one.. but it has something to do with the gear ratio....
anyways.. don't take my word for it... read up on it.. here's a helpful link

good luck!!
