Erratic idling, wtf?
’96 cx w/b16a2, and chipped p28
The car isnÂ’t giving out any CELS, I used to run a JDMR ecu on it before, I had two codes, but nothing related to the idle, just knock sensor, and electrical load detector or something.
Now what the car does is, whenever I am in neutral, usually when I am coasting in neutral or just come to a stop and am in neutral the idle keeps bouncing from 500-1500rpm, and sometimes after a bit it stops and idles at 1300 rpmÂ…I donÂ’t understand what the problem is, there are no CELS or anything.

try taking off the IACV and cleaning it or changing it, then make sure there's no air in the coolant system. also, do a search, there has been alot of topics on this subject.. good luck..

If it did the same idle surge with both the ITR and chipped P28 ECU's, I would look into: possible air in the coolant, dirty or bad IACV, possible vacuum leak at a gasket, hose or fitting, etc.
