Default Engine blocks and OBDII

I am picking up a B16 bare block this weekend. To use it in my 97 coupe, does the block have to be 97-up or do i just need a 97-up head and ecu?

the blocks and heads are all the same. The only difference from OBD 1 and OBD 2 is the electronics (like dizzy, ECU, etc.)

One more little detail: OBD2 engines have a CKF sensor at the bottom of the timing belt for OBD2 misfire detection-OBD1 engines don't.
