Hey guys I want to do an engine swap for my 97 civic and Im deciding on a bseries or kseries. Ive been to many websites claiming to sell these engines straight from japan and the engines are up to about 3k-4k including trans, ecu, engine harness and lsd, Is ordering an engine from japan the best thing to do or try to find one locally first?

 

there are so many cheaper usdm engines floating around it's ridiculous. do what you can afford.

 

well i can afford up to 3k, heard the jdm engines have a little more juice

 

if you're thinking about doing a k swap, 3k gets you an engine and tranny. tack on another 2-3k for everything else you need.

 

wow, didn't realize the k swap was that much more expensive, i think i will just stick to the b swap then

 

there are added costs with a b swap too. people never seem to take this into account.
