EG hatch engine swap
hey i saw this 93 hatch in a autobuy. Its a 93 dx AUTO. know i always wanted to do a engine swap and this is my first time. the two questions i got is. what engine would be best for just a swap. i am not going to change the internals or add turbo or anything, just engine swap. im thinking a b18c1 with its tranny, i was also thinkin about a b16a2 with a gsr tranny. Now about the shift linkage, Is it going to be that hard to make it manual???? need help

Re: EG hatch engine swap (honda2k)
Why would you want to get a B16 and use a gsr tranny? Most people would rather have the b16 tranny with their gsr swaps because of how close the gearing is. Also In the B18C5 motor or Type R motor whichever you understand uses the same gear ratios as a B16 tranny....Try and do some searches about what you're about to embark on you'll learn about not only what you'll need to make your auto civic into a manual but also you'll yearn a little something about these motors and trannys and which setups are the most ideal....good luck

Its not the easiest thing in the world, but it can be done without too much hassle. You will need to locate a 5 speed pedal assembly first. I have one for sale if you are interested. You will also need a clutch master cylinder, slave cyclinder, and all the hydraulic lines.
