EF swap to d16Y8, can I keep my PM5 ecu?
I have a 1990 Civic Hatchback and a 98 Civic si parts car, I want to swap the D16Y8 into the 1990. T
I'm asking if I can use my 90's computer, convert the car to MPFI, swap on a distributor (or rewire the Y8's). Would it run using an AFC to correct fuel ratios? I plan to turbo later, going to use the afc and dsm injectors.

No, just convert it to OBD1 using an adapter harness and get an ECU that you can tune after you convert to MPFI. AFC's are band aid fixes at the most. The PM5 is setup for dual point. Also you can't use OBD1/2 distributor with an OBD0 ECU and vice versa.

Chippings not for me, Im going to use an AFC.
Problem is im on an extreme budget, if I can somehow convert the car to mpfi I should be able to figure the rest out but I dont have a hope in hell of finding a 88-91 si civic for parts.....and I wont pay $100 for an old ecu off ebay..I paid $100 for the car LOL.
Could I use an integra obd0 ecu to convert my car to multipoint?

It will never run right or optimum. The SAFC won't activate VTEC or change your ignition maps and the OBD0 LS ECU will run rich as well. Are you just going to guess that it needs less fuel and mess with the band aid SAFC to try and fix it?

I'm planning on using an AEM wideband afc, that should be accurate enough to tune the fuel compensation right?
My basic plan is to get a D15b7 (selling off the Y8 vtec currently) with obd1 computer, 390cc DSM injectors, Apexi Neo, and retard the spark timing a few degrees, not sure but I might need different spark plugs too. My turbo is a a knockoff from ebay, I have 2 of them actually brand new. I just want to do this to get a feel for putting together a turbo system. If it goes good I have a 91 Acura integra in mint condition I want to build an engine for. for this one I'm not serious about hp or anything, just having fun with it.
I'll do a build thread when I get the ball rolling and some more parts together.
