Default ecu help!

so here's my problem:

d16z6 in my 99 hatch. can't smog because it's running off a obd1 ecu ( i think there's a obd2->obd1 jumper in there)

i was thinking that i could run a obd2 ecu (99-00?) and go smog it. but then i thought of other problems. like d16z6 has vtec and 99-00 civics didn't, so will that affect it?

basically, what ecu can i use to run this d16z6 properly enough to go smog the car.

1.6L - SOHC - OBD2 - D16Y8 - P2P

I'm not sure what the laws are on smog for your part of cali, but I always thought you'd fail immediatly if you have an engine older than the chassis.

so the ecu is p2p? is this a vtec or nonvtec ecu, or does it even matter?

well it's a test only smog station, so all i need to pass is the sniffer test. hopefully once i get this smog out the way, i can move on to bigger things

the P2P is SOHC VTEC, it's from the EX.
