Default smog??

I have a d16y8 in my 98 civic hatchback. If I convert the ecu into obd1 with a p28 ecu will it still pass smog?

No, your car will not pass the functional test for the smog check. Smog checks conect a wire to the obd-2 connector to check for any CEL and to make sure that your monitors are complete.

They can't really tell unless you throw a cell, but it will not pass the emissions test unless its tuned really well to pass smog. Use stock ecu
