well im doing a b20 swap and i was told to get a dx ecu by a dumbass only to find out that it wont work because the ecu tries to read for a crank speed sensor but the b20 doesnt have that sensor well now i am being told to use an obd2 integra ls ecu but my friend neglected the fact that there are 2 versions of obd2 i i have a guy with a 99 ls ecu but b4 i buy it i want to know if that i the one i need. That depends on what year Civic you have.
1996-98 = OBD2
1999-00 = OBD2B / OBD2.5

for your '98 car with JDM b20 you can run:
1) OBDII to OBDI hanress converter + 92-5 LS ECU (PR4/P75 ecu)
2) 96-00 JDM OBDII 5spd ecu from a CRV or Orthia (5spd model) or B18B integra
USDM P75 LS B18B 96-98 will work but you'll have few little problems one with the crank sensor, secondary 02.
USDM DX ecu will throw few more codes and will run a little leaner
99-00 USDM ECUs will not plug in and will require a hanress replugged or harness converter (but codes will still occur)
