ECU Code 2 ??? PR3 ecu
I have a PR3 ecu preOBD on a B16.
I am now getting a code 2.
Checked the PR3 troubleshooting chart but no code 2 exists. What could be triggering this "unknown" code?

Re: ECU Code 2 ??? PR3 ecu (primeredbeast)
No, only one is hooked up and jumped to both ecu pins. Its been running just fine for almost two years. Till now that i just installed the VAFC.
It blinks twice fast and then pauses. Then blinks twice again and then pauses. They are short blinks, not long.

It is also running lean according to the rich/lean gauge. Even at full throttle, only the first RED LED turns on my R/L gauge.
It richens up only at idle when ever it wants but goes back to lean when driving.

Code 2 is the secondary O2 sensor. I would either wire them correctly or convert to OBD1 and run one O2 sensor or have your PR3 chipped to run one sensor. The PR3 needs inputs from both pairs of cylinders to run "correctly".

Re: ECU Code 2 ??? PR3 ecu (91civic)
what you said makes perfect sence, however. why did this code just come up after installing the VAFC? (remember, iv'e been running the motor for two years with my current setup, no ecu codes ever popped up)
Could it be due to the the engine running extremely lean the O2 picks up the new engine condition then sends out the code. Possibly the computer's way of saying "hey i'm leaning out".
Remeber it tries to adjust the mixture while at idle and achives a richer mixture but after driving a few minutes it leans out and the code pops up eventually.
Next step is the dyno in a week or two, but i don't want to drive the car like this....

have you tried resetting the ecu after your VAFC installation?
I'm betting your gettting this odd code because of something not setup or wired in correctly with the VAFC...

Yes i did, i also double checked the wiring according to the install sheet and everything is correct. The VAFCII also operates just fine and picks up all the sensors, rpm and psi.

its a VAFC 2 eh? haven't toyed with one of those yet.
Perhaps ver.2 is 'smarter' than the ver.1 and it's lookin for the 2nd 02 sensor. Maybe wire in the 2nd 02 like it should be and see what happens, yea? or convert to OBD1

Re: (cherroneballs)
The VAFC is to complex and i have no idea how to tune it. I did all the install myself but adjusting all the settings is a diffrent story all together.
I'll talk to the dyno shop and see what they say about this.
Any other opinions are appriciated. thanks!
