Doing b20vtec in stages
Hello All
I have read many swaps guides & after weighing the pros & cons I have decided a b20vtec seems to be the build for me. Right now I have a measly single cam in my 95 ex coupe. This would be my first swap, but I live next door to a reputable mechanic shop & I am cool with the owner. He has a room dedicated to building engine & is cool with me putting my engine on a stand a slowly working on my build & assisting me when needed. I live in the Caribbeans & there is no highway where I live. This would not be a daily driver as I drive my company vehicle year round.
Can I complete this build in stages? Lets say I start with a high compression Block with a ITR 4.7 FD transmission, but I build the block as if I was already going B20vtec. Oil lines, breather boxes, 12:5:1 pistons, eagle rods, bearings, catch cans etc. If I decide it isnt enough then I can send a head off to Alaniz or something with all the fixings. Skunk 2 valvetrain, cams, cam gear yada yada. Is the feasible?
Thanks in advance.
Since its my 1st post I uploaded a pic of my whip. Needs some TLC it was sitting for a year.

Re: Doing b20vtec is stages
This thread can be closed. After speaking it over with a friend of mine I have decided to go a different route. I will try to find a 89 CRX HF & swap in a jdm 98 spec itr motor. That should be plenty fun regardless of the venue.
