I recently purchased a JDM ITR engine, while installing and on the lift I spun a tire and the other moved in the same direction. My friend held one wheel while I tried to spin the other and neither wheel would spin.
So I think I have a solid diff, welded or aftermarket I dont know. I've been driving it since Thanksgiving on the streets and havent had any problems with it. On tight turns there is very minor binding. I dont even notice it that much, I do notice the axles trying to work together though.
My question is: Do they make an aftermarket welded diff? Or a diff that both tires spin at the same time?
Also, I've heard people say that if you snap an axle under power with a welded diff your gonna lose it. I dont see how that is. If both tires are spinning at the same speed and an axle goes then only one tire will be spinning, how will that make you lose control. I'm not a small dude, 6'4 240, I just dont see how its gonna make that much of an impact.
I've searched this topic and havent come up with any of my answers, all help is appreciated.
