Did I get screwed?
I just picked up my complete D16Z6. It has everything for the z6, dist, intake, injectors, motor wiring harness, alternator, flywheel, exhaust header.
This was a boneyard deal from a 94 Civic Ex with 6x,xxx miles.
Paid $900.
But I get home and NO ECU..........I stated I wanted a complete swap and think
I even mentioned the ECU and the guy puts 'Engine Assembly' on invoice.
Said he sold the P28 ECU for $250?
Did I get screwed, thought this was a cheap swap, or am I just bitching..............
That ECU price seems high for what I see on this board.

Well theres the premium price, good price and the steal price. You wind up in the premium price group. 250.00 for a p28 now that guy got screwed.
Hopefully at that price you got a sweet warranty.

Re: Did I get screwed? (91allmotorb16)
back in the day I paid $1000 to have my blown D16 taken out and replaced.
I would have to say you got screwed. I see these motors on ebay and stuff for like $400-500 dollars, the accessories shouldn't cost that much.

Yeah but thats ebay...and ebay is full of **** imo. The engine he bought has lowish miles and he didn't have to pay for shipping.
However the time to ask the question is before you buy your engine not after. Hell I have that same engine in my shed I would have sold it to you for 500.00 but then theres shipping and it has over 100,000 on it, which is nothing for a Honda engine.

sometimes ebay good sometimes bad. I got my GSR on ebay for $3000, with DC header, complete crower valvetrain (including cams) camgears, centerforce clutch (i hated that ******* clutch, got ACT now)
I was just using it as a point of reference. My main point was that these D16 motors are a dime a dozen now.

Re: Did I get screwed? (mike1114)
i just sold my d16 with the following
engine, tranny, newer clutch/flywheel, ported head, aem cam gear, aem pulley kit, nuformz block guard, wrinkle red valve cover, greddy header, dc sport oil cap y0 and neuspeed short shifter.
i told the kid ahead of time no ECU, no harness. (cuz i need for h22 swap) my friends say i should have sold it for more. but i think the price is right.

Very true. I remember a couple years ago when all I wanted was the 1.6 vtec and throw a greddy kit on it. Prices were definently higher then.

6X,XXX miles on a 94 EX would be "suspiciously low" miles or "JDM estimated" miles in my book
