Default DC4 trans to B20B engine

hey all, im trying to install my integra's transmission onto a new jdm b20b, but i am having problems massaging the transmission housing onto the block. it seems that when i have the spline into the clutch and everything, the transmission does not want to press tightly onto the block. there is about a finger's width of gap there and no amount of massaging is working on it. the dowels are lined up, but nothing is coming together. anyone have any tips?

it takes a little patience but I know it fits cuz thats the set up I had a while back. if its a stock ls tranny it will fit.
