Default d17a as low cost replacement in 93 civic dx

Might sound stupid, but I'm thinking why not stick a d17a into a 93 civic dx (d15b) as a replacement. I realize the exhaust flange bolts up differently, but my main questions have to do with that plastic intake and distributor mounting. My reasoning is that right now d17 with low mileage are very cheap and abundant. I'm not looking for higher horsepower, just higher mileage.
