Yes but the 88-91 Civic/CRX Si cable tranny would give you better gearing

That depends on how you want to go about doing the swap. The normal basic setup would be a 88-91 Civic/CRX Si PM6 ECU and distributor, stock DX engine harness rewired to MPFI and an RPM activated switch for the VTEC.

I don't see why you couldn't use the Z6 manifold. I have a complete 95 EX manifold on a 00 D16Y7 in my 89 Civic DX hatch. I'm using all OBD0 parts and the only real difference is the MAP mounted on the throttle body and an extra coolant line which I needed to just "T" into the one under the throttle body.

the 88 tranny will not bolt up because it has a different spline shaft

are you using the si ecu and harness. im planning on using the si ecu and modifing my dx harness for the mpfi changeover. how do you run your vtec? msd rpm switch?? and same as you i will keep using all obd0 parts.

The 88 tranny will bolt on and work as long as you use the 88 clutch kit and flywheel.

You can't use an Si engine harness in an DPFI because the shock tower harness plugs are different. Well it could be done but you would have more wiring to do than using the DX harness and rewiring it to MPFI.
