I was wondering if anyone could give some information on building the d15b7 block with a y8 head. I have an 89 si if that helps at all. anybody have times with built d15?

Yea, I'm a bit curious on this myself. It seems like I've been hearing more about this buildup lately. I may just be b/c I live in Indiana . Thanks

Re: d15 build up (sbrocks1)
you have an '89 si..so this means you should have a d16a6 block. why not jus throw the y8 head on there? put some d16a1 pistons in the a6 block, use a y8 headgasket (thinnest), y8 intake mani, and a b-series throttle body w/integra intake tube+cone filter. when you put pistons in use arp rod bolts and arp head bolts. use the y8 waterpump+timing belt. your a6 distrib will bolt to the y8 head with no prob. use your si engine wiring harness and keep the pm6 (d16a6) ecu if u want to make it easy. you can also run a pg7 (88-89) teg ecu but it WILL run it rich. i would use the a6 bottomend over the b7 bottomend (d15 rods are tiny). my friend's d16z6/d15b7 minime ran about the same compression as my d16z6 w/d16a1 pistons.
