i would say you would have to use the y8 studs because the z6 might have diff threads or somthing but can i ask why your putting a z6 head on a y8 block???

I believe the Z6 studs will be too long for the D16z6 head swap. On the z6 head, there and 9 bolt locations that are the same height, and one that is a little higher than the other 9. I believe a z6 stud is the correct length for the one location that is a little higher, and y8 studs are the correct lengths for the other 9. The y8 stud may be long enough to bolt down on the last location, but I had both sets so I went ahead and mix and matched. I used a D15b vtec head but I also have a z6 head to compare with. The bolt layout looks the same.
