ctr cams? or skunk2 cams?
which is worth the money? i know skunk2's cost more, but they supposedly perform bette than the stock ctr's. which do you guys recommend on a basically stock b16a 90 civic si with only intake, high-flo cat, and 5zigen fireball catback 2.25" exhaust?
If you are on a budget u can just get the CTR intake cam...i ran from a 14.6 to 14.4 thats a .2 faster with the CTR intake cam only...and no tuning...and of course results may vary from different cars...but i got no complains
get the skunks...mad more midrange power and top end...so you're e.t.'s will decrease more than .2 of a sec when tuned properly!

Biggest questions are:
How much money are you trying to spend?
How accessable is a good dyno with a GOOD tuner?
What kind of power are you trying to make?
What are your long-term goals? Forced induction? All motor?
I'm saving my money up for some Toda Spec-B cams and portflow stiff inner valvesprings with TypeR outers all around. Portflow Ti-retainers too. Costs a lot, but worth it when you lay down the big power, you know?
Skunk2 cams are NOT regrinds -- billet new blanks. My friend has a set for SALE BRAND new in box for $600.00. This is no ****.
Contact me @ xspeedracing@aol.com for info on the cams for sale. These are LEGIT, but he's changed his mind on his long-terms goals, so the cams are for SALE. Located in Georgia, but he'll ship -- buyer pays shipping.

Some dyno charts were recently posted with the jun, toda, and R cams. If your going with street setup, go with the ctr cams. the mid-range was THE BEST out of the three. they make real good power up till 8k. I wouldn't really waste the money on the skunk cams. you will get minimal gains compared to the R cams if any. Plus you get OEM quality with the R cams.
hey WAFFLES...why would the skunks be a waste of money? tune the car correctly and there should be 14 h.p. increase...and that mid-range torque loss will be gone!
they're great for the drag strip!

check this thread out..possibly the most informative thread ever in honda-tech https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=43599
Thanks for proving my point civicnightracer. Although neither of the cams were dialed in with cam gears. The skunks might have made more power once dialed in, but the extra money wouldn't be worth it for ME. If your wanting to spend that extra grip for hella more horses, go with JUN3 or TodaCs. But for daily driving and mild drag and auto x, i think R cams are better.
hey WAFFLES i HATE you...i HATE you so much because you proved me wrng (and i do admit it!) that i'm gonna go get those friggin ITR cams for my ride tomorrow! or should i get the CTR intake cam and the ITR exhuast cam? i heard the CTR intake cam does have a little more radical of a lobe...and yes the skunks are kinda pricey!
