Default Crx obd0-obd2 Alternator plug conversion questions.

Alternator died today... and want to use a new one i have which is obd2. I have a 91 ef8 crx and noticed it only uses 3 wires instead of 4 on the alternator plug. I was wondering if the newer obd2 alternators need that 4th wire or not? I did do a search but my wire colors are different then the regular 88-91 Civic/Crx colors. On my obd0 plug i have blue, red, and White/blue. On the obd-2 plug i have white/blue white/green, black/yellow and white/red. If anyone can lead me in the right direction that'll be great. Thank you.

okay. i am trying to use an obd1 alt/ and plug on an obd0 car..

This is what i have:
OBD0 Round plug, 4 wires

1. blk/ylw
2. Blue
3. whit/blu
4. wht/yel

OBD1 Sqquare plue, 4 wires
blk/yel
wht/blu
wht/red
wht/grn

Which goes which, i know match the two up (blk/yel - wht/blu)

I am going out on a limb and saying if the connector is the same from the 3 to 4 wire alternators...it should work...

Thats a pretty ignorant assumption, at my cost. If you don't know..don't reply, i don't have time for guess work.

There is 2 ways you can go about this if the color adds up for the position of the wire for the black/yellow white/blue go by the positions of the wires and match them up...if not try white/yellow with white/red and of course the other wire with blue...

or get a manual out and start looking...

If this by all means needs to be done asap...give Rywire a call Monday...cost you maybe $1 for a 30 second phone call...
