i have a simple question

is it possible to take out the b20b from a 98 crv awd manual, and swap in a built b18 long block in its place? will the crv tranny bolt on the b18 block with no problem???

What is your project? What are you trying to do?

If you have a crv, use the stock crv mounts. I don't think they make aftermarket ones. As far as eliminating AWD, I don't see why it would be difficult at all (but I have no first hand experience). Remove axles and rear end then you're done.

Not complicated at all, You will probly have to make a custom passenger side mount bracket as the awd trans uses a different bolt patteren than a fwd trans, a fwd rear "T" bracket should fit right in (not shure from what model you'll need it from) and you'll need to mount a convenional fwd shifter in the floor.

If you get rid of the:
AWD 5spd transmission
shifter & shift cables
drive shaft
rear differential

lmk!

The CRV RT4WD transmission will work just fine as a FWD transmission without resorting to anything fancy. All you need to do is remove the driveshaft, the rear diff and almost all of the rear axles. You'll need to keep the outer joints of the rear axles bolted into the rear hubs, as that is what holds the hubs/bearings together and that is where your wheel speed sensor rings are mounted.

Your B18 will bolt into the CRV using your existing CRV motor mounts.
